Reminder: You need to see Mr. Leonard about IB registration and exam fees prior to November 21. You may bring a check, payable to Science Hill High School IB, or make arrangements to start a payment plan. Updated fee statements will be distributed Dec. 1st.
The following information was given to students at the Sept. IB Meeting. It details the number of points possible for each course, TOK, EE, and CAS.
There are *6 groups: Group 1: Language and Literature Group 2: Language Acquisition Group 3: Individuals and Societies Group 4: Sciences Group 5: Mathematics Group 6: The Arts 1-7 points will be awarded for each class after examinations are completed and results are posted. 6x the number of points awarded = 42 possible points Completion of the TOK and EE allows for an additional 1-3 possible points per student The CAS project must be completed for the candidate to be eligible for the diploma. 42 course points + 3 TOK/EE points = 45 total possible points earned. ***Candidates are eligible for the diploma after earning a minimum of 24 points and completion of the CAS project. The additional requirements, as outlined by the IB program, can be found in Article 13 of the General Regulations. IB, not Science Hill, makes the determination about whether candidates have met the requirements needed to award the IB Diploma.*** Junior and Senior IB candidates will meet on Monday 8/11 in room A252 during flex-time. Please bring your lunch and eat while we meet.

Ms. Terranera and I have been working on the evaluation process and thinking of new ways to help improve the IB Program. We hope that the changes we are starting will help you and help the program to grow this school year! We will be having IB orientation meetings during flextime starting on: *Monday, August 11th from 12:08-1:08 for all Junior and Senior IB students *Friday, August 15th from 12:08-1:08 for all Freshman and Sophomore Pre-IB students These meeting will be held in Mr. Leonard’s room A252 Remember that the IB Mission aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who help create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. “I think; therefore, IB” GO TOPPERS and GO IB!!! This page will be a place to find updated information about current events happening at Science Hill related to the IB program. Our plan is to have it fully functional at the beginning of the 2014-2015 school year.
