IB College Credit Information
The International Baccalaureate program allows students to earn college credit due to the program courses being taught at a college-level. Students who complete a course (course work and exam) at a certain standard are eligible to receive college credit at many colleges and universities. Colleges and universities set their own policies on how to accept IB credit from student’s high school transcripts, and which final examination scores they will accept; however, it is always the responsibility of the student to check with the colleges and universities admissions departments to determine eligibility. In addition, there can be further benefits for students who complete the IB Diploma, rather than take IB courses individually. For help researching the school of your choice, contact the IB Coordinator prior to Science Hill registration and/or college admissions deadlines to ensure you are enrolled in the right courses for you. Below is a list of schools who accept IB credit (as determined by former Science Hill IB student’s enrollment/acceptance at their schools).
